The Children’s Place has some new artwork to cheer up the hallways, courtesy of the Lighthouse Art School in Lowell.
The project came about when the art schools founder, Engelie Blomerus, was visiting a patient on the unit. She noticed the wall murals, and thought children might enjoy some bright, eye-popping artwork made by kids their age.
Justine DeFronzo, RN, BSN, Clinical Manager agreed it would be a great way for art students to share their appreciation and beauty of art with patients and visitors.
“The artwork is very bright, and very different from the murals, as they are made in several mediums from mosaics to paintings,” said Justine. “Parents and children alike enjoy seeing work done by their own peers. We are grateful to have these pieces for all to enjoy.”
