Main Campus Patient Service Center

Offering early morning and weekend hours, is truly "one stop shopping" with all outpatient services on one level. Patients will find accessibility to outpatient services easier than ever with over 10 departments located in the same area. Instead of traveling through different floors and locations at the hospital's main campus, patients will now arrive at the new main lobby, with a central access point to most hospital units and patient care areas.

"What is so exciting about our new Patient Service Center is the ability to serve the many needs of our outpatients without having them travel throughout the hospital," says Amy Hoey, Senior Vice President Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. "Patients will go just a few feet beyond the lobby and access the majority of their outpatient services."

As part of our new patient experience, Lowell General Hospital is focused on providing care in a quiet environment that is more comfortable for patients and visitors. The Patient Service Center will use paging technology to signal patients when they are ready to be served. With the registration area in close proximity to the new coffee and gift shops, patients' families and friends can grab a snack or shop while they wait for appointments to be completed.

Outpatient Services at the Main Campus Patient Service Center:

Cashiers and Financial Counseling
Providing a one-stop center for patients to pay bills and meet with counselors regarding insurance questions and financial assistance programs.
Diagnostic Imaging Services
Including a new digital X-ray unit for faster testing, more detailed images and increased comfort. In addition, the new Shields MRI Suite will be just steps away from the Patient Service Center lobby.
Laboratory Services
Featuring more space and privacy, the new lab area includes six individual drawing rooms specially designed to meet needs of different patient populations. An additional Electrocardiogram (EKG) machine, expanded reception area and expanded blood collection services for inpatient units and the Emergency Department are also available.
Lactation Clinic
Offering easier access for our new mothers and babies in a warm and friendly environment, the clinic is open Monday through Friday with emergency visits available on weekends if needed.
Nutrition Services
Including nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy by registered dietitians.
Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic
Providing services such as cast applications, braces, splints, orthotics, suture/staple removal, and direct surgical assistance. This clinic is conveniently located next to the X-ray department for patient convenience.
Pre-operative Services
Offering anesthesia consultations and all pre-operative testing.
Respiratory Services
Featuring a Pulmonary Function Lab enabling outpatients to have testing done in a central location, saving time when multiple tests are needed.
