Email PageLowell General Hospital Executive Earns Recognition as Healthcare Leader in Massachusetts
September 28, 2011 - Lowell, MA - The American College of Healthcare Executives of Massachusetts has announced that it has awarded Michelle Davis, Director of Marketing Operations & Community Development at Lowell General Hospital, the Early Career Healthcare Executive Award.
This award recognizes leadership, innovation and active participation in civic and community activities and projects.
"Michelle has been a driving force in enhancing Lowell General's presence in the community and improving the health especially of low income families, many of whom have no other access to healthcare,"said Norm Deschene, President and CEO of Lowell General. "We are proud of the work Michelle has done and grateful to have her on our team."
In her current role, Michelle directs the areas of Marketing and Public Relations, the Center for Community Health & Wellness, Childbirth Education and Community Benefits. Her skills as a healthcare leader have been recognized within Lowell General, as she is also serving as Director of Transition for Lowell General's $95 million expansion.
In addition to her many roles at Lowell General, Davis sits on the Board of the American College of Healthcare Executives of Massachusetts and chairs its communications committee, and she is interim director of Greater Lowell Health Alliance. Michelle is also active in the Association for Community Health Improvement, Massachusetts Hospital Association's Community Benefit Workgroup and Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development.
Michelle has more than 12 years of experience in healthcare marketing and community relations holding degrees in aging studies and nursing. She is also pursuing a Masters Degree in Healthcare Management & Policy from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
The American College of Healthcare Executives is an international professional society of more than 35,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations.
