Spiritual Care Services
Lowell General Hospital strives to help meet the spiritual needs of all and is open to all faiths.
The hospital Chaplain is available to all, regardless of faith, to assist in providing spiritual needs. The Chaplain may be paged through the hospital operator or called at 978.937.6418.
Members of our Volunteer Department will notify clergy of your admission to the hospital should you inform us of your religious preference. At your request, the clergy person of you choice will be called. Members of the clergy may visit patients at any hour. If you do not have a chosen church, but are seeking prayer or comfort, a trained lay Stephen Minister is available. Ask your nurse for assistance.
Lowell General Hospital's Chapel, located on the first floor, is open to all patients and visitors for quiet meditation and prayer at any hour.
Shawl Ministry
Prayer shawl ministry is a form of providing comfort and healing to others by way of a shawl which has been knit or crocheted with blessings and prayers for the person who may receive it.
Lowell General patients or their caregivers may request a shawl (which may be used as a lap blanket or wrap) that is distributed through the Spiritual Care office with a personal visit.
For more information or to ask for a prayer shawl, please call 978-937-6418.
Click here is you are interested in joining our Prayer Shawl Group to knit/crochet shawls.
