VNA of Greater Lowell Participates in “We Honor Veterans” Program

Lloyd Miller of Chelmsford is saluted by Johanna Kiefner, M.Div., LICSW, Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Lowell’s Spiritual Coordinator and former Army chaplain, during a ceremony at his home to recognize Miller’s World War II military service.The VNA of Greater Lowell participates in “We Honor Veterans,” a partnership between the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization and the Department of Veterans Affairs. The project includes identifying patients who have a military history, educating clinicians in caring specifically for veterans, recognizing and thanking veterans for their service, and collaborating with veterans’ organizations in the community. The goal is to ensure that veterans have appropriate, effective palliative care and hospice services when needed.
