Lowell General Sun Santa Raffle Sets New Record

Forty lavish gift baskets were created and donated by different hospital departments from both Lowell General Hospital's Main Varnum Avenue Campus and the Saints campus. They were raffled off on Thursday, December 19th in the hospital's Clark Auditorium before a spirited crowd.

The sale of raffle tickets to staff, patients and the public yielded more than $57,00, an amount which the hospital matched to produce a total contribution of $115,800.

It was the most successful Lowell General Sun Santa raffle yet, surpassing last year's then-record total of $110,016. A special thank you to all of our staff, physicians, visitors and friends who supported this event through ticket purchases and basket donations. We would also like to give a special thank you to Linda Gaetano, Debhinn Watts and our entire Volunteer and Concierge Services Department for coordinating such a successful event.

Lowell Sun Publisher Mark O'Neil was effusive in his praise for the hospital's annual booster shot for the Sun Santa effort.

"What a privilege it was once again to witness this unique and spectacular event," said O'Neil. "We are so fortunate to have Lowell General Hospital and the Circle Health Group as a lead partner in our annual Sun Santa Campaign. We serve over 3,500 families in 15 communities with the assistance of these special groups and individuals.
