Improving Access to Breast Health Services for Southeast Asian Women

Susan G Komen logoIt’s an exciting new partnership for women’s health: Lowell General Hospital and Lowell Community Health Center’s Metta Health Center are joining forces to launch an important breast cancer screening and breast health education project targeting the Southeast Asian women who make up a significant portion of greater Lowell’s population. The collaboration is made possible by a $15,000 grant from Susan G. Komen for a Cure.

This initiative aims to educate as many Southeast Asian women as possible – in a compassionate and culturally appropriate way – about the importance of early breast cancer detection, including having annual mammograms, and to connect them with local health resources.
