Email PageBasic Child Passenger Safety Class
This important class for new and expectant parents should not be missed. Participants will be given information on how they can better keep their infant or child safe in a moving motor vehicle. Additional topics that will be covered are: the Child Passenger Safety Laws in Massachusetts, the 5 types of child car seats, basic child safety in car seats, and how to properly install car seats in the family vehicle. This course is a must for new or expectant parents who want to keep their children as safe as possible while in the family car! Please note that car seat inspections will not take place on the night of the class. Information on where to have your seat inspected will be provided.
Presented by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians Mike Croteau from the Westford Police Department and Paul Corcoran from Lowell Police Department.
Class will be held on Thursday May 2, 2013 from 6:30-8:30pm in Hanchett Auditorium at Lowell General Hospital's Main Campus
About the Presenter
Officer Croteau has been with the Westford Police Department since 2001. He is the Community Service Officer in Westford. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Safety Officers League. Officer Croteau is involved in community events and programs some of which include car seat safety check-ups, presentations at local schools on bullying and cyber-bullying, and a member of Westford Against Substance Abuse.
Officer Corcoran is a married father of three. He has been with the Lowell Police Department since 1983 and has been the Safety Officer in the City since 2001. Officer Corcoran is also involved in local events and programs including: The annual Bicycle Safety Rodeo, Bingo with Your Grandparents during Lowell Kids Week, LPD Officer Volunteers Vs. the Kids in Disability Sports baseball game, the Citizens Police Academy and the Senior Citizens Police Academy at the Lowell Senior Center.
