Star Performer, Erin Gardner"She's one in a million - we couldn't do our jobs without her," says the ICU team about Erin Gardner, our September Star Performer of the Month.

Erin is a Critical Care Technician in the ICU, and has been with LGH for over six years. In her role, she works closely with the RNs, administrative staff, and physicians to ensure the highest level of care to our critical patients. She brings a high level of experience to her position, as she also works part time as an EMT with Trinity Ambulance.

Carolanne Landry, RN, says that Erin is in "high demand" in the ICU, where patients require a lot of monitoring, and conditions may change rapidly and unexpectedly. Carolanne says ICU staff are fortunate to have Erin's expertise and skills on the ICU team. "Erin prides herself on giving 150% to all her duties, and has an incredible gift in understanding all patient's needs, no matter what their language," says Carolanne.

Erin is known to give this same level of commitment to her fellow employees. For example, if a patient's condition declines, Erin is always right there, helping out in any emergency situation. "She always
anticipates what you may need next," says Carolanne. "She's never afraid to dig in and help out."

Laura Crain, ICU Clinical Manager, says that Erin is a Star Performer due to her compassion, flexibility, positive attitude, and effective communication with patients, families, and staff. She also demonstrates a great willingness to learn and teach others. "She brings laughter to our unit, and always leaves a positive impression with everyone she meets," says Laura.

Erin lives in Lowell with her two children Keenan, 11 and daughter Kylie, 9, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
