Dawn Jacobs

RN, Pediatrics

Star Performer, Dawn Jacobs"A Star Performer every time she enters Pediatrics," is how co-workers describe Dawn Jacobs, RN, our June Star Performer of the Month.

Dawn has been a nurse in the Pediatrics Unit for over two years, and is known for her self confidence, reliability, and amazing flexibility with her shift schedule. Christine Gaudette, RN, Clinical Manager of Pediatrics, describes Dawn as an integral part of her clinical team. "She is definitely one of the nurses we count on to get us through high census periods," says Christine. This past winter, for example, Dawn consistently helped out with other shifts by arriving early, staying late, and coming in on her days off.

Dawn brings this same level of commitment to the young patients she serves, and is skilled at communicating and comforting anxious families. "She's great at developing rapport with the children and their families," says Christine. "I often hear compliments about Dawn as I do my patient rounds the next morning."

Co-workers describe Dawn's upbeat attitude and smile as contagious. "When Dawn is charge nurse, you can be sure you will get a ‘thank you' and ‘great job' at the end of your shift," says co-worker Kelliann Bazemore, RN. She says that Dawn communicates well with physicians, administrators, patients, peers, and supervisors, and treats everyone with the utmost respect and sincerity.

Dawn lives in Tyngsboro with her husband Bob and two children Stephen and Thomas. In her spare time she loves watching her children's lacrosse and football games, working out at the gym, and watching the Patriots and Red Sox.

Congratulations Dawn, You're a Star!
