July 2013

Erika Keefe, CRT

Respiratory Therapy, Main Campus

"From the day Erika started working in the Respiratory Department she has been a blessing to us", is how Kerry Ann Rondeau, CRT, describes July's Star Performer of the Month, Erika Keefe. "I work with some wonderful and gifted therapists but I must say I have been blown away with how quickly Erika has become one of my favorite people to work with; Erika is a perfect example of what makes Complete connected careSM possible."

Erika has worked at Lowell General Hospital for four and a half years. She first started at as an X-ray technician assistant while taking classes at Northern Essex Community College. For the past year and a half she has worked as a respiratory therapist, treating patients who suffer from lung disease.

Her co-workers comment on her amazing drive and passion to provide her patients with Complete connected care. Erika's commitment is impeccable and she works every day to improve at what she does. She has recently joined the Neonatal Code Committee. This is impressive, with her only being part of the department for about a year and demonstrates her passion to learn more about all aspects of different practices. Erika's co-workers cite her kind and humble attitude along with her communication skills as some stand out attributes that Erika displays and the reason why she is a Star Performer. She has recently gone from working evenings to late nights. The evening staff fought to keep her and the night staff fought to get her, a true testament to her dedication to fellow colleagues!

Erika lives in Dracut and enjoys snowboarding and being active. When she is not working she is involved with the Neonatal Code/Rapid Response Committee. This committee works to provide exceptional care to infants that need critical attention.

Congratulations Erika! You're a Star!
