Ian Cissel

Paramedic Service Team

Ian Cissel"Ian is extremely competent in his care and he creates a high level of trust between himself and the staff in the Emergency Department" is how co-workers describe April's Star Performer of the Month, Ian Cissel.

Ian started working as part of the Paramedic Service Team in June 2012. Since then, he has been a stand-out employee who takes initiative and is always willing to help out fellow staff members. Ian has access to all of the hospital locations and cares for patients in various settings. Staff continually acknowledge how well he handles this responsibility and acts with respect, dignity and self-direction.

"I first became aware of Ian while working in the Emergency Department. He noticed that a stretcher had been vacated by a patient and immediately took it upon himself to clean and make up the stretcher for the next patient," says Tracie McPadden, RN, MSN, Director of Emergency Services at the Saints campus. "Ian is willing to take on any task asked of him and consistently displays a can-do attitude. He truly is the embodiment of Complete connected careSM."

In addition, Ian has volunteered as one of the paramedics to provide additional resources to the Emergency Department. During these shifts, he assists the department with IV starts, transportation of patients and general patient care. Ian lives in Boston. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time in the city.

Congratulations, Ian! You're a Star!
