Jeffrey Wardle, BSRT (RT)

The Cancer Center

Jeff Wardle"I CAN'T is not in his vocabulary," describes the dedicated attitude and team spirit of Jeffrey Wardle, BSRT (RT), our September Star Performer of the Month.

Jeff joined the Radiation Oncology team in 2007. As Medical Dosimetrist, he works closely with physicians to develop radiation therapy treatment plans for patients. He is compassionate and takes time to know his patients, who often single him out by name on Press Ganey surveys.

"Jeff is known for his 'can do' attitude, being serious when needed, but always offering a little comic relief. He is always proud to represent the Cancer Center in any capacity, and will go out of his way to help the team whenever needed," says Sherry Roberge, BSRT (RT), Chief Radiation Therapist. For example, Jeff became a super-user on a new CT simulator, performing double duty as both a dosimetrist and simulation therapist, trained physicians on the new equipment, and mentored a new therapist as well.

"Jeff is always flexible and there to lend a hand or make suggestions," says Ellen Edry, CTR. His positive energy is contagious." Ellen notes that Jeff serves on several committees to promote the experience of patients for both the Cancer Center and LGH. He is the Primary Service Excellence Advisor, serves on the Press Ganey Task force, and is very involved in TeamWalk for CancerCare and the Cancer Center's Survivorship Day.

Jeff lives in Haverhill, and outside work enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and supporting his children in their sports activities. He is proud of his daughter's participation in the "Off The Wall" gymnastics competition team and his son on the JG Whittier middle school football team.

Congratulations, Jeff. You're a Star!
