 "Deb is not only a team player, she's a great coach with tons of enthusiasm," is how co-workers describe Deb Bergholm-Petka, our June Star Performer of the Month.

Deb began her career at LGH over two years ago as the Manager of Training and Development. In her role, she is responsible for leadership training, coordinating the bi-annual Press Ganey Employee Satisfaction Survey and implementing action items post-survey, leading different teams such as the Diversity Council and Employee Satisfaction Council, and implementing several community outreach initiatives for LGH employees, such as the PATH Grant.

Deb has accomplished quite a bit in a short period of time. We have seen tremendous improvements on the Press Ganey Employee Satisfaction scores since her tenure. She is known for her outstanding facilitation of the "Achieve Global" leadership training series with LGH's management team. Deb's commitment to fellow staff members is unequivocal; she always takes the time to recognize staff with notes of encouragement and "Spotlight on You" cards.

 "Deb has done so much to improve the management training at LGH, and is a willing mentor and consultant to many of us in the Group of 100," says Brendan Riley, Security Supervisor. "She helped me with some great ideas on how to improve the New Employee Orientation. She never told me what to do, but coached me into making decisions and revisions myself to give the program a whole new look and attitude. Brendan said that Deb has been a welcome addition to the Safety Committee and has upgraded the annual Safety Fair.

"Working with Deb is truly a gift," says Sally DeAngelis, Service Culture Manager. "She creates a supportive working environment that recognizes staff and challenges them to go further."

Deb lives in Chelmsford with her husband Lance, two children Mitch and Kate, and dog Scout. She likes spending time in Vermont visiting her parents, and is very involved with her children's schools, sports and activities.
