Marjorie Kidd"Loyal, devoted, simply a true champion of LGH and all its goals," is how co-workers describe Marjorie Kidd, RN, our April Star Performer of the Month.

Marjorie started her career here over 28 years ago, and serves a dual role as both an admission nurse in the Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) and a nurse educator with the Nursing Informatics team. She is known for her superior communication skills with patients, and a bedside manner second to none. She is always intuitive to her patient's needs, and ready with a hug of support. She never hesitates to take on additional duties and responsibilities, especially when it is in support of patient care.

"Marjorie works diligently and often on her own time to lead our Performance Improvement initiatives on the ACU," says Denise Roy, RN, Clinical Manager. "She is a member of our unit-based shared governance team, and works hard to support staff and hospital reporting requirements as our representative to the Performance Improvement Council." Denise says that even though Marjorie loves patient care, she willingly put her duties aside for many months during the implementation of Elmer, our electronic medical record system.

Marjorie dedicates countless hours to improving technology and patient care at LGH. For example, during our Elmer conversion, she worked on her own time to learn the system, and served as a tester, super user and trainer. "She was so proud when LGH was named to the nation's 100 Most Wired Hospitals by Hospital and Health Networks Magazine," said Denise. She is committed to advancing technology and improving patient care across the whole organization."

Marjorie lives in Pepperell with her husband Steven and twin daughters Melissa and Jacqueline. In her spare time, she enjoys cross-country skiing and kayaking.
