As a Patient Service Representative in the Emergency Room, Marie demonstrates a "Patients First" attitude each and every day. "Marie proves time and time again to be a pillar of strength when helping family members deal with the anxiety that comes with a visit to the Emergency Department," says Katie Johnson, ED Registration Supervisor. Marie strives to make each patient feel special, as if they're the only ones who need her attention. She always thanks patients for making LGH their hospital of choice before she begins their registration.

Marie displays a very "up close and personal" attentiveness to her patients. If there are questions or doubts about patient information, she makes every effort to find the answers. She takes time to really listen to a patient's needs and concerns, and takes that one extra step to make sure patient information is complete and accurate. She takes patient safety to heart. She's the first to call the Facilities Department if sidewalks need additional salt, or warning patients if floors are wet.

Marie shows the same commitment to her co-workers as well. She always comes to work with a smile and a "can-do" attitude. "She makes the department cheerful. Even when we are extremely busy, Marie brings up everyone's spirits," says Katie.

Marie lives in Pelham, NH with her husband Stanley. She enjoys spending quality time with her five children and three grandchildren. She likes to tour the summer festivals in Boston and vacation with her family in Florida.
